Sony just dropped their 2025 BRAVIA TV lineup, and I’m already dreaming about upgrading my living room setup. This new collection is of course all about bringing an authentic cinema experience right into your home.
The Flagship: BRAVIA 8 II
The star of the show is definitely the BRAVIA 8 II, Sony’s new flagship QD-OLED that succeeds the impressive A95L. This TV uses Sony’s proprietary XR Processor paired with the latest generation QD-OLED panel to deliver stunning visuals.
What really caught my attention is the XR Triluminos Max technology, which enhances natural colors while keeping that vivid brilliance we all want in our movies. The AI scene-recognition system is no joke either – it analyzes what you’re watching to make everything look as realistic and detailed as possible. As a matter of fact, we watched it turn older classic films into detailed remastered pieces on the fly.
But the coolest feature might be the Acoustic Surface Audio+, which turns the entire screen into a speaker. Sound literally comes from the exact spot on screen where the action is happening, effectively creating an even more immersive experience.
The Middle Child: BRAVIA 5 Mini-LED

If you’re looking for something a bit more affordable but still packed with premium features, the BRAVIA 5 Mini-LED is where it’s at. Sony has managed to pack many of last year’s high-end technologies into this more accessibly priced model.
The XR Backlight Master Drive technology (which shares DNA with Sony’s professional monitors) delivers precise local dimming for excellent contrast. This means you’ll see everything from subtle facial expressions to dramatic highlights with incredible detail.
Sony hasn’t forgotten about sustainability either. The BRAVIA 5 uses proprietary signal processing to optimize brightness while keeping power consumption low, and the Eco Dashboard 2 lets you easily monitor and adjust your energy settings[
The Bravia 5 will be available in sizes ranging from a massive 98″ down to 55”.
The Entry Point: BRAVIA 2 II
For those just dipping their toes into Sony’s premium TV territory, the BRAVIA 2 II offers a great viewing experience without breaking the bank. It upscales your old HD content to 4K and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for immersive audio.
The TV will be available in sizes from 43″ to 75”.
Creator-Focused Features
What really sets these TVs apart is Sony’s obsession with delivering content exactly as creators intended. All models come with Studio Calibrated modes that reproduce the image quality filmmakers want you to see.
To that effect, the Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode, SONY PICTURES CORE Calibrated Mode, and Prime Video Calibrated Mode ensure your favorite streaming TV shows and movies look exactly as they should.
Pricing
While Sony is keeping pricing and exact availability under wraps until later this spring, this lineup looks incredibly promising. From the premium BRAVIA 8 II to the entry-level BRAVIA 2 II, there’s something for every home theater enthusiast, but if BRAVIA’s last models are any indication, we don’t expect the 2025 lineup to be very affordable.
