Samsung has announced their Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops and they both have Galaxy phone technology baked in.
There are currently two models each for both the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 – with 13.3 and 15.6-inch display models. All variants max out Full HD resolution but only the Galaxy Book Pro 360 uses Super AMOLED for its panel. For the Galaxy Book Pro, it touts an AMOLED screen.
Under the hood, these ultra-portable notebooks are powered by Intel’s 11th-gen core i5 and core i7 processors. They come with a choice of either 8GB or 16GB RAM and storage options of 512GB SSD except for the 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro 360 that tops out at 1TB SSD. Graphics are handled by an Intel Iris Xe GPU.
Some differences between the two models are the missing S Pen, no keyboard backlight, no 5G support, and one less USB Type-C for the Galaxy Book Pro. But it carries an HDMI port that the Galaxy Book Pro 360 doesn’t have.
Apart from those, key features are pretty much the same including a fingerprint scanner on the power key, sound by AKG and Dolby Atmos, WiFi 6E capability, and a 720p webcam with a dual array microphone. All variants also come with a 65W USB-C fast charger.
Meanwhile, a slew of productivity features is also available like the Pro Keyboard that Samsung says has reengineered. It promotes speed and comfort while typing while its Quick Search software should make looking for documents quicker. Intelligent Noise Cancelling is also present to help during video meetings.
The upgraded S Pen included with the Galaxy Book Pro 360 now promises a more true-to-life writing experience with its thicker build. The device can also be used out of the box with the pre-loaded Clip Studio Paint. On the other hand, the Galaxy Book Pro boasts its Second Screen feature that expands the display onto a Galaxy tablet for easier multitasking.
With the combination of these specs and features, the new computing series from Samsung aims to be the device you bring around to accomplish tasks. The 13-inch Galaxy Book Pro, for example, weighs only 0.87kg and is only 11.2mm thin. Still, it’s still made to be durable with military-grade materials including 6000-series aluminum — the same alloy used by aerospace manufacturers.
Both the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 are available for pre-order starting April 28th and will be available for purchase on May 14th. The Galaxy Book Pro will start at $999.99 and $1,099.99 for both the 13- and 15-inch variants, respectively. They will be available in two-tone Mystic Blue and Mystic Silver.
The Galaxy Book Pro 360 can be purchased starting at $1,199.99 and $1,299.99 for the 13 and 15-inch models, respectively, and will come in a choice of Mystic Navy or Mystic Bronze.
