Samsung’s stunning 2018 Frame TV just got smarter with Bixby

Samsung updates the Frame TV with smart features and HDR10+ support

Today Samsung is announcing several updates to their Frame TV that will help take these beautiful TVs to the next level in 2018. Samsung’s Frame TV is everything we want in a TV for a living room. That is because instead of looking like a traditional black box, it blends into your living room like a chameleon and is designed to look like an art frame. And now the 2018 Frame TV models are going to be better and smarter.

Samsung’s 2018 QLED TV line already offers several neat smart features like Effortless Log-in and Bixby, and Samsung is bringing those features over to the 2018 Frame TVs. That means that Bixby can be used to control the Frame TV with voice commands, and even to control compatible smart lights, sounds bars and other smart devices. Meanwhile, effortless log-in lets users easily transfer their Samsung and Wi-fi account details from their phone to their TV – without having to remember or re-type their password. In addition, Samsung has enhanced the Frame TV’s picture quality with the addition of HDR10+ support

They’ve also improved the TV’s Art Mode. The user interface has been updated so that you can now browse different art pieces based on the color scheme of your room. Alternatively, you can browse by medium – such as photography or drawings. Once you’ve selected the artwork you like best, you can create a “playlist” that the TV will shuffle through.

The art collection for the Frame TV now includes over 800 pieces of art in the Samsung Art Store. Users can access the full collection for $4.99 per month.

“We designed The Frame for consumers who love the function of a big, beautiful 4K UHD TV but struggle to design their room around an empty black screen when the TV is turned off,” said Dave Das, Senior Vice President of Consumer Electronics for Samsung Electronics America. “You can travel the world and still be hard-pressed to discover all of the art that is now available on The Frame. It gives consumers the freedom to design the room of their dreams, and the flexibility to change that design whenever they like.”

The 2018 Samsung Frame TV is available now on Samsung.com and it will be available at other retailers later this month. Pricing is the same as it was for the 2017 model – $1,999 for the 55” model and $1,999 and $2,799 for the 65” model.
