The iconic Razr is back for 2025, and this time it’s not just about nostalgia. The new Razr family, unveiled today, is all about next-level AI smarts, and an even bolder design.
The new 2025 razr family is a follow-up to the phenomenal 2024 series. The lineup introduces three different models for the first time—razr ultra, razr+, and razr—each designed for a different price point and user need, with the high-end razr ultra being the newest addition to the lineup.
The flagship razr ultra ($1,299.99) leads the pack with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, making it the world’s most powerful flip phone, while the razr+ ($999.99) uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and the entry-level razr ($699.99) debuts the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X.
All three phones come loaded with Motorola’s new moto ai features that are actually quite useful: Catch Me Up summarizes your messages, Pay Attention keeps track of details during calls, and Remember This saves info for later. The Next Move feature takes things further, recognizing what’s on your screen and suggesting actions—like making a playlist or generating AI images. You can access these tools from the external display, and the razr ultra now has a dedicated AI key for instant access.
The 2024 razr series was the most stylish, well-designed flip foldable of 2024. So much so that we couldn’t imagine how they could improve the Razr’s design, yet for 2025 Motorola has managed to take the Razr’s design to the next level, with each model offering new unique finishes.

The razr ultra is debuting an Italian-made Alcantara— which is a first for smartphones. Alcantara has a soft, suede-like feel that’s both luxurious and grippy. For those seeking something especially unique, there’s a FSC-certified wood finish model, which is nostalgic because it brings us back to the days of Moto Maker. Each material on the ultra model is paired with Pantone-curated colors, like Scarab, Mountain Trail, Cabaret, and Rio Red. The Razr+ and Razr models each have a beautiful selection of bold Pantone-curated colors and unique materials too.

Once again, the Razr phone feels as much as a fashion accessory as a phone. With this new razr family, Motorola isn’t just chasing trends—it’s setting them. The combination of premium materials, bold colors, and meaningful durability upgrades make these phones more than just pretty faces.
But the 2025 Razrs’ improvements aren’t just skin deep. The new titanium-reinforced hinge plate is 4X stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel, and designed to withstand up to 35% more folds than before. All models now feature IP48 water and dust protection, and the razr ultra’s cover screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass-Ceramic, delivering 10x better drop performance.

The 2025 Razr’s external displays are still among the largest in the foldable flip category: 4.0″ on the razr ultra and razr+, and 3.6″ on the razr. The ultra’s 7.0″ internal pOLED screen now boasts Pantone validation for even more vibrant, true-to-life colors and an increased brightness up to 4500 Nits.
When it comes to cameras, the razr ultra sports the world’s first triple 50MP camera system on a flip phone, while the razr+ and razr also get 50MP main sensors. AI photo enhancements include features like automatic photo optimization, Signature Style for personalized edits, and features like Group Shot and Air Gesture for hands-free selfies.
Battery life and charging speeds on the Razr family look strong across the board: the razr ultra offers 36+ hour battery life and ultra-fast 68W charging, the razr+ gets a day’s use with 45W charging, and the razr delivers over a day with 30W charging. All 3 models support wireless charging.

Motorola is also expanding its ecosystem with the moto buds loop (open-ear wireless earbuds made in partnership with Bose audio) and the moto watch fit (a fitness-focused smartwatch), both designed to work seamlessly with the new razr lineup.
Pre-orders for all 3 models start May 7 on Motorola.com, with wide availability from major retailers and carriers starting May 15.
