During CES last month, we reported on Samsung’s newest Chromebook, the Galaxy Chromebook 2. The company has now shared that pre-orders for the device start today, February 16th.
The Galaxy Chromebook 2 is a 2-in-1 device boasting of being the world’s first laptop housing a QLED display. This is the same display technology found on Samsung TVs which most likely means it will be quite an impressive display. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 retail for $549.99 and will be available in two colors — Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray.
Pre-orders will start today February 16th, and will run until February 28th. Orders will be taken through Samsung’s official website or through Best Buy. Special promos are also available for those who order within the given time period.
Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Chromebook 2 can receive up to $50 credit on select purchases at either Samsung or Best Buy, wherever the pre-order was made. Reserving a unit, on the other hand, will grant up to $30 off select purchases.
Additionally, should you decide to get the Galaxy Chrome when it comes out on March 1st, you can get an additional $30 off on your next purchase at either Samsung or Best Buy. This, again, depends on where you procure the unit. The offer will be available from March 1st to March 14th.
Apart from its QLED display, the Galaxy Chromebook offers a host of other useful features. Smart Amp allows for loud and cinematic audio despite the device’s small form factor. It also includes a long-lasting battery and intuitive keyboard wrapped up in a durable, aluminum frame.
