OPPO Find X10 series review: A photo powerhouse

Oppo built the ultimate flagship for creators, pairing Hasselblad glass and pro video tools

When we tested the Find X9 Pro last year, we crowned it the king of camera phones, raving about its incredible photography chops and long battery life, while wondering how long it would take for anyone to outdo it. As it turns out, Oppo answered that question themselves with the new Find X10 series, and they’ve once again managed to push mobile photography onto an entirely different playing field.

With the Find X10 Pro Max leading the lineup, this isn’t just another flagship making big claims that it has the best camera array. It’s a genuine Hasselblad photography powerhouse in your pocket. And while it’s priced comparably to an iPhone 18 Pro Max, in terms of pure photography progress, it wipes the floor with it.

Refined craftsmanship (with some heft)

Pick up the Find X10 Pro Max and you immediately feel an unmistakable level of premium precision. You get flat aluminum rails, symmetrical 1.15 mm bezels, and a one-piece sculpted glass back that curves upward to meet the camera housing. In the Luna White finish, the camera island sports knurled lens rings inspired by manual focus rings, and a subtle fabric-textured matte back.

The phone feels remarkably solid to hold, but at 233 grams and 8.4 mm thick, it’s undeniably a bit hefty. Honestly, it’s a little too thick for our liking if you prefer featherweight devices. But perspective is everything here: while it’s on the thick side, it’s still impossibly slim compared to lugging around a dedicated DSLR. And with Corning-developed Crystal Guard Glass and IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance, it’s built like a tank.

Oppo also added a customizable hardware Snap Key on the left rail which is very much like Apple’s Action Button and is great for creating quick shortcuts to apps.

A gorgeous ProXDR display

On the front you’ll find a 6.78-inch flat ProXDR display with an adaptive 1–120Hz LTPO refresh rate (which pushes up to 144Hz in select games). It offers up to an incredible 2,000 nits full-screen and 3,600 nits peak outdoor brightness, so direct sunlight is a non-issue.

But what really grabs your attention is its coverage of the cinematic BT.2020 color gamut—hitting 95% coverage, which gives you about 40% more color space than standard DCI-P3 displays. HDR video looks rich and lifelike rather than cartoonishly oversaturated.

Flagship muscle and a ridiculous 8,000 mAh battery

Under the hood, the Find X10 Pro Max runs on MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. Teaming that chipset with ColorOS’s Laminar Flow Engine and unified Luminous Rendering Engine cuts rendering draw by 30% and keeps over 25% more apps live in the background. The result is that apps launch instantly, photo rendering never stutters, and Oppo claims the system retains over 90% of its initial fluidity even after six years of heavy use.

Then there’s the battery. Oppo stuffed a colossal 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon cell inside the global version of the Find X10 series, the biggest ever in a Find series phone. It effortlessly cruises through 2 full days on a single charge. Unfortunately the European/UK model has a slightly smaller 7,150mAH battery, but that is still plenty big.

When you do finally run out of battery, you get plenty of fast charging options in the form of 80W wired charging, 50W AIRVOOC wireless, and 55W USB-PD compatibility.

Next-level Hasselblad triple 200MP cameras

The camera setup is where the Fing X10 Pro Max stands out the most. Oppo has packed in the industry’s first Triple 200MP setup, covering wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto focal lengths co-developed with Hasselblad.

We founds shots to be visibly sharper with more faithful colors than the already stellar Find X9 Pro. Oppo’s LUMO True Image Engine relies on a 24-channel True Color sensor to measure actual environmental light rather than guessing white balance, while the Natural Tone Engine curbs aggressive HDR, letting highlights pop while shadows retain natural depth.

In practical everyday shooting, it is really difficult to take a bad portrait shot with this X10 series. Faces retain authentic skin texture without aggressive smoothing, and edge roll-off feels genuinely optical like a Hasselblad DSLR.

It’s just as stellar for object and macro shots, with the ultra-wide focusing at 4 cm and the 70mm periscope doubling as a tele-macro shooter from 10 cm away. Across the board, photos truly capture the essence of Hasselblad cameras.

For quick creative grades, the LUMO Color Palette packs 18 built-in looks – including custom Pearl and Amber skin styles and Portra film simulations – while LUMO Framing offers real-time compositional tips right in the viewfinder. Serious shooters can also clip on the optional Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit for a true 10x optical zoom.

Find X10 vs. Pro Max

If the Pro Max feels slightly too imposing, the standard Find X10 is a noticeably more pocketable, one-handed alternative. It shrinks the screen down from 6.78 inches to a slightly more manageable 6.59 inches, dropping nearly 5 mm in height, over 2 mm in width, and trimming the weight down to 216 grams. Its screen borders are actually even slimmer, shaving bezels down to a mind-boggling 0.99 mm compared to the Pro Max’s 1.15 mm.

When it comes to photography, it ditches the second telephoto 200MP module for a Dual 200MP array (main and telephoto). It still gets full IP69 protection and a similarly large 8,000 mAh battery.

What’s new in ColorOS 17

Once again, ColorOS 17 is clearly designed to look a lot like iOS, which is great for those looking to switch from iPhone. The new Living Flow Design brings soft translucent materials, spring-like touch physics, and fluid animations that feel familiar from the very first swipe. Fluid Cloud now offers glowing tactile progress bars, while the Living Clock transitions smoothly across your Always-On Display, Lock Screen, and Home Screen.

But perhaps the headline upgrade here is AI Mind Pilot’s new Agent Mode, created in partnership with Manus and ChatGPT. It handles multi-step tasks natively on-device— such as sorting through travel bookings to draft full itineraries, building trip albums, or generating vlog thumbnails. You also get AI Mind Space with Long-doc summaries, OSee visual search and translation in the viewfinder, AI Photo Agent for conversational edits, and AI Call Guard to protect against real-time voice clones and deepfake video scams.

On the accessory side, Oppo has also introduced one of the most clever modular phone gadgets we’ve seen all year – the Oppo Bubble. It’s a tiny, magnetic circular accessory equipped with its own vibrant AMOLED display and an independent 550 mAh battery. Snapping directly to the back of the phone, it functions as an ultra-clear live viewfinder, allowing you to frame selfies and vlogs using the superior 200MP rear camera system rather than settling for the front sensor.

When you’re not shooting, it doubles as an interactive “e-badge” displaying dynamic wallpapers, digital pets, and personalized clock faces. Overall, it’s a playful, tactile touch that’s also quite useful.

Pricing and availability

Fortunately, the Oppo Find X10 Series is rolling out globally across more than 60 countries and regions worldwide. For the flagship Oppo Find X10 Pro Max (12GB + 512GB), pricing is £1,499 in the UK and €1,799 across the EU. The standard Oppo Find X10 (12GB + 256GB) comes in at £1,099 in the UK and €1,399 in the EU. Unfortunately, like all Oppo phones, it’s not readily available in the US.

Verdict

Once again Oppo has knocked it out of the park. If you want one of the best camera phones on the market, the Find X10 Pro Max is it. As a matter of fact, it’s good enough for many serious photographers to replace their day-to-day DSLR kit.

That said, the older Oppo Find X9 Ultra still manages to outperform the X10 Pro Max when it comes to low-light photography, largely thanks to its physically larger 1-inch-type main sensor and it offers 10x optical reach. But where the X10 Pro Max wins out is in its much more restrained, natural LUMO color processing, sharper across-the-board 200MP detail, and a complete pro-grade video pipeline with Open Gate capture and Blackmagic support. Ultimately the X10 Pro Max is the better choice for video capture and the X9 Ultra is the ultimate choice for photography, but the X10 Pro Max still offers outstanding photography chops.

Our only real gripe is that the Find X10 Pro Max is a tad bit hefty; in that case, you’ll want to consider the smaller X10. But if advanced camera prowess is your priority, the trade-off is well worth it.
