If you’ve bought a Casely Power Pod in the last couple of years, keep reading.
More than 429,000 units are being recalled. It turns out they overheat and sometimes catch fire.
The issue centers on model E33A, a portable 5000mAh wireless charger. The model was sold between March 2022 and September 2024, mostly online on Amazon, Casely’s site, and a few others.
There have been 51 reports of swelling, smoking, or ignition, and six minor burn injuries so far. So, if you own this model, stop using it.
The company is offering a free replacement, but you’ll need to upload a photo of the charger, mark it with “RECALLED” and today’s date.
It’s important to note: don’t toss the recalled model in the trash. These portable chargers use lithium-ion batteries, which means they’re hazardous if dumped with your regular recycling or garbage. So, make sure to look up local e-waste rules or drop-off spots.
Casely said it’s acting “out of caution.” But don’t wait to find out the hard way – check your portable phone charger as soon as possible. If it says E33A, it’s time to responsibly discard it. Stay safe.
