If we’re being real, corners have always been a problem for vacuum cleaners, long before the robot vacuum era. But, with most of those robot vacuums shaped like oversized hockey pucks, the corner problem hasn’t exactly gotten better. Mova is on the case with their V50 Ultra robot vacuum — on display at CES 2025, the vacuum has extendable brushes to clean corners. The V50 is the heavy hitter, but Mova had a full lineup of smart home gadgets on display at their booth at this year’s show.
The V50 Ultra corners the corner problem
Before we get to the rest of the goodies on display, we’ll key in on the V50 Ultra, which is just a flat-out powerful robot vacuum with a 24,000Pa suction rating. Normally that would make the vacuum awfully noisy, but Mova has made some adjustments to the motor to cut down on operating noise.
More than anything, this bot wants to not be chastised for missing a spot. Of course, corners are the spots that usually gets missed, so the V50 Ultra has a plan for that. A small brush arm and a large brush discs can extend out of the vacuum’s chassis when a corner is detected, to sweep up and clean the area.
Like most robot vacuums, the V50 Ultra can use cameras and sensors to create a map of your place that it can navigate. When it needs to navigate over an obstacle up to 2.36 inches high, the vacuum can extend another robotic arm that can lift the vacuum up over the obstacle and continue on its cleaning route.
Vacuuming the old-fashioned way, but better
But, if you’re the kind of cleaner that just has to do the job yourself to trust that it was done well (hi mom!), Mova has a little something for you, too.The X4 Pro Wet and Dry Vacuum is a combination vacuum and mop, and it’s also cordless, despite having a high 20,000Pa suction rating. That’s a lot of power draw, but the X4 Pro should last 40 minutes on one charge according to Mova.
Fortunately, time on the charging dock isn’t wasted. While docked and charging, the vacuum gets its brushes cleaned with boiling water, then dried. Once the X4 Pro is charged, the brushes are clean and ready to be used again.
When mopping hard floors, the X4 Pro can heat water to 80 degrees Celsius, giving you a good steam clean. If tough stains are detected, the X4 Pro can shoot water out in a jet to break stains up, then use its roller brush as a sponge to soak up the loosened grime and excess water.
While the high suction rating is great for vacuuming, there are other insightful features to like. The vacuum can lay completely flat to get under beds and couches, and while you’re doing so, a little light in the front of the vacuum illuminates those dark spaces. The vacuum head is also designed to sit flush against the wall, so the vacuum doesn’t miss where the carpet meets the baseboard.
Mova wants to clean your teeth, too
No need to relegate them just to cleaning floors. Mova also introduced their new line of smart toothbrushes at CES 2025. Their Fresh Pro toothbrushes change up how the head operates — instead of a rotating head, the brush vibrates, moving up and down and from side to side, which is more in line with the brushing technique the ADA recommends.
The toothbrush also has a companion app that can monitor brushing habits and make recommendations (brush more!), and Mova has designed the toothbrush, from brush to handle, to be resistant to the growth of mold by minimizing concave spaces and maximizing airflow.
Everything we’ve seen from Mova at CES 2025 should become available sometime this year, with information about pricing and release dates to come later.
