Motorola has announced three affordable phones, including their new affordable flagship: the moto Edge+. The other two devices are revamped models of the budget-focused moto g stylus and moto g 5G for 2023. All of the new devices come running Android 13.
moto edge+ 2023
The Motorola edge+ 2023 is the premium device in the lineup. Motorola says the 2023 model offers an improved camera system, a bigger battery, and super-fast charging.
To that effect, the moto edge+ has a 165Hz 6.7-inch pOLED curved display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform processor powers the device, alongside 8GB RAM and 256GB/512GB internal memory.
We know the device has a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 12MP portrait camera on the rear, and a 60MP selfie camera.
Furthermore, the cameras use hardware and software features optimized by AI to power smart camera functions such as Google Photos Enhance, Auto Smile Capture, Google Lens integration, Smart Composition, Shot Optimization, Auto Night Vision, and Smart High Resolution.
In addition, Motorola says the selfie camera will leverage advanced AI features from Snapdragon’s Cognitive Image Signal Processor to divide scenes into different layers and ensure that each element in the image is optimized independently to generate accurate colors and a realistic final image.
The camera system will also take advantage of new video shooting modes, such as night vision, horizon lock stabilization, and portrait mode, to capture images in dark environments, stabilize footage, implement the bokeh effect, or capture footage up to 8K resolution.
When it comes to battery, the 2023 Edge+ offers a 5100mAh battery and supports up to 68W super-fast charging support.
Other features you can expect from the moto edge+ include Motorola Spatial Sound and Dolby Atmos support for immersive audio, Dolby Vision certification, up to 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates, and compatibility with the “Ready For” platform, which allows users to mirror their games or movies on a larger screen or use the moto edge+ as a webcam by connecting it with their PC.
The moto edge+ will be available starting from May 9th, at Boost Infinite and Boost Mobile for $799.99. Motorola also announced that it will be available unlocked starting from May 25th at Best Buy, Amazon.com, and Motorola.com.
