Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) will be teaming up in a brand new series on Disney+.
Officially called Falcon & Winter Soldier, the upcoming show from Marvel Studios has been revealed on Thursday during the Walt Disney Company’s 2019 Investor Day event, where the series’ title card appeared in one of the slides during the presentation.
The first slide shown during the presentation showcased Disney+’s launch programs including The Mandalorian, Lady and the Tramp, High School Musical: The Series, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, Encore!, and the Marvel Hero Project.
The second slide, titled “Coming Soon,” featured shows that will debut on the streaming service within a year of Disney+. The series included in this section are Falcon & Winter Soldier, Noelle, Forky Asks a Question, The Imaineering Story, The Phineas and Ferb Movie, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Falcon & Winter Soldier joins other previously confirmed Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) spinoffs for Disney+, including a Loki (Tom Hiddleston) miniseries, a Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) series, and WandaVision, a series that will focus on the relationship between Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany).
Though Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige didn’t give any detail about any of MCU spinoffs launching on Disney+, he did suggest that Disney+ shows will play a significant part in the MCU moving forward, noting that these shows will tie into and have an impact on the movies.
Disney+ is set to launch on November 12th with a subscription price of $6.99 a month, or $69.99 a year.
