We’re big fans of Lenovo’s Smart Display with Google Assistant, which is why we’re super excited for their just-announced Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant. Priced at just $79.99, the Lenovo Smart Clock is ready to rock your nightstand. The Lenovo Smart Clock is essentially a Smart Display designed specifically for the bedroom.

First things first, if you’re worried about privacy, then you’ll be happy to hear that the Smart Clock doesn’t have a camera. When it comes to audio, it offers a dedicated mic mute button at its rear.

Of course, you can say “Hey Google” to set alarms, listen to music, control your smart home, and access all of the typical Google Assistant features you’d expect from a Smart Display. It also supports Google Assistant’s gentle wake-up routine as well as sleep routines. So for example, you can go ahead and say “Hey Google, Good Night” and that will turn your devices on silent and dim the lights. When you wake up, you can have the Smart Clock automatically turn on your coffee maker or heater, or use it to check your front door security camera.

When it comes to audio the Smart Clock is no slouch either. The clock packs in a full-range 6W speaker system with two passive radiators that have been tuned with Dolby’s background noise reduction. The Smart Clock also supports multi-room functionality and it works like a Chromecast and is able to stream TV shows and music on to your TV or speakers.

When you consider that the Amazon Echo Spot costs $129.99 but sports a much smaller 2.5″ display, right off the bat, the Lenovo Smart Clock seems like a much better value.

The Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant will be available to purchase in the Spring.
