It’s been a long five years, but KFC’s fan-favorite Chicken and Waffles are finally back on the menu.
This week, the sweet-and-savory combo returned nationwide with a few new twists (and some added deals). But this time around, the chain is offering it in three different ways, including a budget-friendly meal box and a larger option meant for sharing.
The $7 meal boxes let you choose between three Original Recipe Tenders or two pieces of fried chicken (Original or Extra Crispy). Each comes with a Liège-style waffle and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup on the side.
If you’re feeding more than just yourself, KFC is also launching a $25 Chicken & Waffles Fan Favorites Box, which includes four pieces of fried chicken, a dozen nuggets, four waffles, and your choice of four syrups or sauces.
The return marks the first time the item’s been available since 2019, when it came back briefly with a Nashville Hot twist. The original 2018 release featured Liège waffles and even a chicken and waffles sandwich topped with hot honey, years ahead of today’s sweet-and-spicy trend.
This time, the sandwich isn’t on the menu, but you could DIY it using tenders and waffles from your combo. One other update: KFC’s chicken tenders now use the brand’s classic 11 herbs and spices, a recent change meant to bring them in line with the rest of the menu.
The relaunch is also part of a wider limited-time offering that includes Strawberry & Crème Pie Poppers for dessert and a $10 Tuesday with Tenders Deal—eight tenders or eight pieces of fried chicken with four sauces, available only on Tuesdays.
Whether it’s brunch, lunch, or dinner, this comeback is provides comfort food energy at any hour. But like all good things, it won’t last forever; KFC hasn’t said how long it’ll stay on menus. So if you’ve been waiting five years for this one, now’s your chance.
