Today at IFA in Berlin, JBL launched the Pulse 4, a follow up to their uber-popular portable Bluetooth speaker designed especially for parties. To that effect, unlike other Bluetooth speakers from JBL such as the Charge and Flip, the Pulse is known for its stunning LED array that provides the right ambiance to match the mood of your music.

Perfect for impromptu beach parties and kickbacks, the latest Pulse offers a longer-lasting battery (12 hours), higher-res LEDs, crisper highs, and deeper bass than previous models. The new model packs in a total of 130 LEDs, but unlike with previous models, you won’t be able to easily see them.

The new model also sports an IPX7 waterproof body, that means the Pulse 4 will have no problem around liquids, whether it falls in the pool or that drunk guy spills his beer on top of it.

The accompanying JBL Connect app allows users to manually customize the lights or use the phone’s camera to color-match the surroundings. Furthermore, the JBL PartyBoost takes the party to another level, allowing up to 100 speakers to wirelessly connect to each other.

JBL is set to release the Pulse 4 in the coming weeks for $199.
