Filling out tedious online forms is easily one of the most annoying parts of browsing the web. While standard autofill options have always been fine for plugging in basic details like your name, street address or credit card info, tracking down other specific information usually means constantly switching tabs or hunting through your inbox. Now, Google is introducing a smart fix to save you all that hassle with a new Chrome innovation that makes filling forms as seamless as the autofill option.

Smart autofill powered by Gemini

Starting Oct. 28, Chrome is upgrading its enhanced autofill feature to pull details straight from your Gmail account while you complete forms online. By leveraging Gemini with Personal Intelligence, the browser can automatically bring out suggestions and helpful details right when you need them. What this means is that you can quickly drop in things like order numbers, tracking info or flight bookings without manually sifting through old email threads.

Privacy and controls built-in

Now, letting a browser read through your inbox might sound a bit intense, and you’d be forgiven if this new update alerts you. However, Google emphasizes that users stay in complete control of their data, and all sensitive information remains encrypted. You also have the option to choose whether enhanced autofill is switched on and tweak what it can access right from your Chrome settings menu.

Where and when you can get it

This new upgrade is beginning its rollout for users located in the U.S. across desktop, Android and iOS platforms. To take advantage of the seamless form-filling feature, you’ll need to be a Gemini in Chrome user with Personal Intelligence enabled on your account. If you meet those requirements, say goodbye to digging through your inbox for tiny details.
