Nearly a decade after fans first submitted the idea, LEGO has officially revealed The X-Files set, a detailed 1,478-piece collectible. The set recreates some of the most memorable locations and moments from the iconic ’90s sci-fi series. LEGO Insiders can get early access beginning August 1, while general availability starts August 4.
To celebrate the launch, Gillian Anderson even steps back into Dana Scully’s shoes in a cinematic promotional short that pays tribute to the beloved series. And for fans who have spent years believing, this set is filled with enough hidden references and familiar faces to make it feel like an episode brought to life in bricks.
Mulder’s Office Is Filled with Hidden References

The centerpiece of the set is Fox Mulder’s legendary basement office filled with details longtime fans will instantly recognize. You get the famous “I Want to Believe” poster, an X-Files case file, pencils stuck in the ceiling, sunflower seeds, and the “The Truth Is Out There” display tile.
The office can also be opened and partially disassembled, allowing you to explore the interior from different angles while creating your own paranormal investigations.
Eight Characters Join the Investigation

Additionally, the set includes eight minifigures representing some of the show’s most recognizable characters. You can recreate classic scenes with Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, The Flukeman, and a gray alien.
Outside the office, LEGO recreates one of the series’ signature UFO encounters with a forest clearing scene. The spacecraft sits atop a transparent stand, creating the illusion that it’s hovering above the trees, though it can also be removed for alternate display options.
Built by a LEGO Fan, Made for LEGO Fans

Like every LEGO Ideas release, this set began with a fan concept. The original design was created by Australian fan designer Brent Waller as part of the LEGO Ideas ’90s Nostalgia Challenge before earning enough community support to become an official set.
That fan-first approach is reflected throughout the build, with countless callbacks, Easter eggs, and display options designed specifically for longtime followers of the series.
