A fire broke out at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park during the Disney Enchantment show last weekend.
A staple of Magic Kingdom Park’s experience, Disney Enchantment is a fireworks and projection mapping spectacular that draws huge crowds of parkgoers every night. But as reported by Walt Disney World News Today last Saturday, the edition of Disney Enchantment that day had a little mishap, as a small fire broke out on top of a popular ride near the fireworks launch site.
In a Twitter video shared by a guest named CD Howard, a fire on top of Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction can be seen starting to grow.

While the video doesn’t show how exactly the fire started, Walt Disney World News Today pointed out that the wind was likely the culprit for the unfortunate incident, as the wind near Magic Kingdom Park around that time was reportedly reaching about 14 mph.
The Orlando area, where Disney World is located, was also recovering from storms that Saturday morning, so Walt Disney World News Today reported that the wind may have caused debris from the fireworks display to blow over to Under the Sea ride, causing a fire to start on top of the attraction.
The Under the Sea ride was closed following the incident, but the Disney World website shows that the attraction is now open and operational.
This fire at Under the Sea is the third fire-related incident that stemmed from Disney Enchantment since the show debuted in October 2021. The first one damaged the launch site during a test last August, while the second incident caused some issues at Magic Kingdom back in December.
