The sweet, spun-sugar scent of cotton candy wafting through the air is a surefire trigger for childhood nostalgia. Now, Kit Kat is tapping into that very feeling with its latest release: a cotton candy-flavored Kit Kat bar. But there’s a catch—it’s a Costco exclusive and is available only in a variety pack. Read on to learn more about this new Kit Kat flavor.

Cotton Candy Kit Kat hits Costco shelves

Kit Kat fans with a sweet tooth and a Costco membership are in luck—a Cotton Candy-flavored Kit Kat has finally arrived, exclusively at Costco, six years after it was seemingly leaked online for a different big-box retailer.

Back in 2019, an image surfaced on Walmart’s social media, appearing to showcase four potential upcoming Kit Kat flavors: Cotton Candy, Chocolate Cream Pie, Orange Creamsicle, and Cherry Cola. This suggested that Walmart may have considered carrying the Cotton Candy flavor at some point.

Some online discussions and social media posts indicate that Walmart may have briefly sold the Cotton Candy Kit Kat, possibly as a limited-time or test item. However, its availability there was short-lived, and it is no longer sold at Walmart.

Currently, the Cotton Candy Kit Kat is officially a Costco exclusive, but only as part of a special variety pack. This 100-count assortment features three flavors: Milk Chocolate, Vanilla, and the long-awaited Cotton Candy. Each bag retails for $16.99.

Will this flavor be available at other stores? Only time will tell.

Fans divided over Costco’s exclusive Cotton Candy Kit Kat

Costco’s Cotton Candy Kit Kat has sparked a mix of excitement and frustration among fans. Social media users have taken to Instagram to share their reactions, with some thrilled about the nostalgic new flavor and others frustrated by its limited availability.

Under a post by snack blogger @markie_devo, one fan expressed disappointment, writing, “UGH! Costco exclusive?! Also, why not just a bag of all Cotton Candy Kit Kats? I wanna these.” Another user speculated on the reasoning behind the exclusivity, commenting, “I’m shocked it’s a Costco exclusive. This must mean the variety packs sold well with the other limited edition flavors.”

Others lamented the bulk-buying requirement, comparing it to past Kit Kat releases. “Ugh, they did this once with strawberry Kit Kats. Can’t they just make a single pack?” one user complained. Meanwhile, another fan was eager to try them, joking, “I hope they give out free samples of this 🤣.”

Not everyone is on board, though. Under an Instagram post from @costcoaisles, one critic blasted the flavor, calling it “garbage” and accusing Kit Kat of “making up [terrible] flavors to keep people interested.”

Despite mixed reactions, the Cotton Candy Kit Kat remains a highly talked-about release, proving that even a simple Kit Kat flavor can stir strong opinions.
