Coca-Cola is shaking up the soda aisle with a surprising twist—its first-ever prebiotic soft drink. Teaming up with its Simply juice brand, the beverage giant is introducing Simply Pop, a fizzy, fruit-forward soda that supports gut health. Here’s what you need to know about this bold new launch.

Coca-Cola Launches Simply Pop: A Fruity, Gut-Friendly Soda

Coca-Cola is entering the prebiotic soda market with Simply Pop, a new line designed to compete with brands like Poppi, Olipop, and SunSip. These vibrant, fruit-forward “pops,” as Simply calls them, offer a refreshing twist with six grams of prebiotic fiber per 12-ounce can, promoting gut health, alongside vitamin C and zinc for immune support.

Featuring five familiar flavors—Strawberry, Pineapple Mango, Fruit Punch, Lime, and Citrus Punch—Simply Pop draws inspiration from existing Simply juice favorites. Coca-Cola selected Simply to lead this prebiotic soda venture, responding to strong interest from Gen Z and Millennials in both juice and prebiotic beverages. The result is a fizzy, no-added-sugar drink blending 25 to 30% fruit juice from concentrate.

Where Can You Find Simply Pop?

After more than a year in development, Simply Pop is hitting select retail locations and will be available nationwide via Amazon Fresh this month. While currently sold in individual cans, the brand’s expansion into the fast-growing prebiotic soda category suggests Simply Pop could soon become a staple alongside traditional Coca-Cola products.

History of Simply

Coca-Cola’s Simply brand was created in response to evolving consumer preferences, particularly the demand for natural, not-from-concentrate juices. Launched in 2001 under The Coca-Cola Company’s Minute Maid division, Simply Beverages initially focused on providing high-quality, not-from-concentrate orange juice to meet growing consumer interest in “natural” and “additive-free” juice options.

Simply debuted with limited distribution in the Northeastern U.S., offering three varieties of orange juice before expanding along the East Coast and eventually achieving nationwide availability. The brand quickly gained recognition for its commitment to using high-quality fruit, particularly Florida oranges, and for its distinctive packaging—clear plastic bottles with signature green twist-off caps—emphasizing transparency and freshness.

Over the years, Simply has expanded its product line beyond orange juice, introducing lemonades, limeades, and a variety of fruit juice blends. Today, the brand has grown from a regional orange juice company into a diverse beverage portfolio that includes juice drinks, lemonades, smoothies, and, most recently, prebiotic sodas.

As consumers become more health-conscious, the demand for functional beverages has surged, fueling the rapid rise of prebiotic sodas. Unlike traditional soft drinks, which are often high in sugar and artificial ingredients, prebiotic sodas offer a fizzy, flavorful experience with added digestive health benefits. These beverages contain prebiotic fiber, which helps nourish beneficial gut bacteria, supporting overall gut health.
