Chick-fil-A, the popular fast-food chain known for its chicken sandwiches and being closed on Sundays, is making an unexpected leap into the world of streaming entertainment. The company is reportedly planning to launch its own streaming service, aiming to compete with the likes of Netflix and Disney Plus.

According to Deadline, the streaming platform will reportedly focus on unscripted, family-friendly content that aligns with Chick-fil-A’s values. While details are still scarce, the company has supposedly been quietly working behind the scenes to develop a lineup of original programming.

One confirmed project in the works is a family-oriented game show from Glassman Media, which has received a 10-episode order.

Interestingly, this isn’t Chick-fil-A’s first venture into content creation. The company has previously produced animated short films like “Stories of Evergreen Hills” for its website.

The company is also in talks to license and acquire content.

Chick-fil-A isn’t alone in this unconventional move. Other non-entertainment companies have also dipped their toes into content production recently. For example, Lyft, the ride share company, has produced shows like “Lucky Lyft” and Airbnb was behind the documentary “Gay Chorus Deep South,” which aired on MTV.

Only time will tell if this bold move will pay off for Chick-fil-A, but given its passionate customer base, and growing chain of 3,000 stores nationwide, the fast-food chain may just stand a chance to succeed in the streaming market after all.
