What Is Burger King’s Million Dollar Whopper Contest?
In February, Burger King kicked off its inaugural Million Dollar Whopper Contest, inviting fans from across the U.S. to dream up their ultimate Whopper creation. The challenge? Submit the most mouthwatering ingredient combinations for a chance to win a $1 million prize and have their custom sandwich featured in restaurants nationwide for a limited time.
After receiving and reviewing over one million imaginative entries, Burger King’s team of flame-grilling experts narrowed the competition to three exceptional finalists. These fan-crafted Whopper sandwiches are as follows:
Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper (Created by Fabian of California)
Craving a flavor explosion? Burger King’s new Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper delivers. Sink your teeth into a juicy, flame-grilled ¼-pound beef patty topped with tangy pickle ranch, crisp lettuce, crunchy fried pickles, savory bacon, and melty Swiss cheese – all served on a toasted sesame seed bun.
Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper (Created by Calvin of California)
Indulge in a sweet and savory sensation with Burger King’s new Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper. This flavor-packed creation features a juicy, flame-grilled ¼-pound beef patty topped with a rich maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions, and jalapeños for a spicy kick, and a sprinkle of maple bacon seasoning. It is finished off with a drizzle of Mexican spicy queso for a fiery kick, all served on a toasted sesame seed bun.
How to Vote for Your Favorite Million Dollar Whopper Finalist
Starting tomorrow, November 14, customers can visit their local Burger King to try all three finalist sandwiches in the Million Dollar Whopper Contest. To vote, simply scan the QR code on the wrapper of each finalist sandwich. This will direct you to the BK App or bk.com/MDW, where you can choose your favorite and help crown the winner of the $1 million grand prize.
What Do the Million Dollar Whopper Finalist Sandwiches Taste Like?

Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper
This Whopper promised a pickle lover’s dream with fried pickles and pickle ranch, but the mild sauce and soggy pickles left it lacking compared to the other finalists. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short in terms of flavor and texture.
Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper
This burger offered a symphony of flavors – sweetness, smokiness, crunch, and a hint of heat – all thanks to its unique maple bourbon BBQ sauce. Elevated beyond the typical fast-food experience, the Maple Bourbon Whopper offered a taste closer to a fast-casual restaurant.
Mexican Street Corn Whopper
This Whopper stood out for its bold Tex-Mex flavors, featuring street corn spread, spicy queso, and tortilla crisps – a first for the fast-food world. Though some might find the combination unexpected, the fresh ingredients and unique flavors made it Fink’s favorite, despite its potential to be divisive.
Burger King Is Giving Away 1 Million Whopper Sandwiches for Just $1
As a thank you to all the Royal Perks members who participated and submitted an entry to the Million Dollar Whopper Contest, Burger King is giving away 1 million original Whopper sandwiches for just $1 while supplies last. To avail of the promotion, which began last November 12th, members of the Royal Perks loyalty program simply need to go to the “offers” tab in the BK App, where they can claim a $1 Whopper sandwich.
“We couldn’t think of any better way to recognize and celebrate our biggest Whopper lovers than with a special offer that lets everyone feel like a winner,” Pat O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer, Burger King North America, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to hear how Guests think these three new creations stack up to the classic and look forward to them ultimately crowning the winner of the $1 million grand prize.”
