IFA 2024 is wrapping up, and we’ve seen the best gadgets the world has to offer on the show floor in Berlin. We’ve got wearables, drones, robot vacuums, AI laptops, and some standout home tech in this year’s Best of IFA 2024 awards.
The best of IFA 2024
Midea One Oven Series

Remember when Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone as a music player, a phone, and an internet device? Well, the Midea One Oven series is a little like that, but for the kitchen! Forget clogging up the counter with an air fryer and a microwave — these ovens combine a conventional oven, a steam oven, a microwave, and an air fryer. It’s as good for warming up leftovers as it is for baking bread with a perfect crispy crunch, as well as for baking a Thanksgiving turkey. More counter space for food prep!
Roborock Qrevo Curv

Hair: the natural enemy of the vacuum cleaner. Roborock is tipping the scales in that particular battle with the Qrevo Curv, one of a few new robotic vacuums they announced at IFA 2024. The Roborock Qrevo Curv has a dual-brush mechanism that sucks up hair and guides it straight into the bin, instead of letting it get wrapped up around the vacuum’s brushes. That should keep the vacuum going strong without needing to untangle anything yourself! The vacuum can also intelligently raise or lower its body and brushes, making it effective on hard floors and thick carpets alike.
Lenovo Aura Edition Laptops

We know that Lenovo’s laptops are going to have the best hardware at all pricing levels — born from a multi-year collaboration with Intel, their Aura edition laptops are equipped with software that gets the most out of hardware. Aura edition laptops comes with Smart Modes that tweak settings to match your needs: Attention Mode will block certain websites and apps to keep you locked in, Wellness will keep tabs on your eyes, detect fatigue, and let you know when it’s break time, and Shield Mode will use a mix of alerts and a VPN to keep private data secure. There are also quality-of-life features like Smart Share, which allows you to share files between a phone and your laptop just by tapping the phone on the edge of the screen.
Both the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i will come in Aura editions.
Acer Nitro Blaze 7

What a time to be alive — PC gaming hardware has finally gotten efficient enough to go handheld. The Steam Deck has paved the way for many, and now Acer is hopping in with a 7″ handheld gaming PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, AMD Radeon 780M graphics, 16GB of RAM, a 144Hz 1080p display, and a full-on controller setup with a dedicated button to bring up the virtual keyboard. The Nitro Blaze 7 looks like it could be the best machine yet for PC gaming on the go!
Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus 8-core

Microsoft CoPilot+ PCs are making inroads – lots of laptops stuffed with AI features thanks to the NPUs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X series of chipsets. A lot of those machines have been on the expensive side until now, but the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core Qualcomm announced at IFA 2024 should enable more affordable CoPilot+ PCs, while still maintaining the terrific battery life we’ve been seeing in more powerful devices. They haven’t skimped on the NPU either, so laptops using the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core will be able to handle on-device CoPilot+ AI features like live translations. At the show, Lenovo announced a few laptops powered by the Snapdragon X Plus series.
Ugreen Uno Series

We didn’t know we needed battery chargers that look like cute little robots, but now we do! The Ugreen Uno series is full of chargers with robot emoji faces that can change and animate. The series includes up to 100W charging, a magnetic wireless charging dock, and a 100W USB-C charging cable. Yes, they put little animated robot eyes on the plug of the charging cable, and yes, it’s the best.
Yaber K3/K3 Pro

At this year’s show, Yaber announced an update to their flagship projectors in the K3 and K3 Pro. They’re improving on their 1080p projectors with their new CoolSwift cooling system, which does a better job of managing operating temperatures during extended periods of use. They’ve also added a new projection system that improves brightness at 1,600 ANSI lumens, improving contrast and performance in well-lit environments. Combine that with built-in dual 15W JBL speakers and Dolby audio processing, and you’ve got an impressive 1080p projector for the price, with the base K3 model starting at $500, while the Pro model at $600 includes a subwoofer.
Amazfit GTR 3 Pro

Amazfit has been known for their affordable, basic fitness smartwatches, but they’re going big with the GTR 3 Pro. It’s a lifestyle fitness watch with a sleek look, a beautiful AMOLED display, and a sturdy titanium casing. While it’s a great smartphone companion, it’s also a great everyday fitness tracker. Beyond tracking heart rate, stress, and, sleep, there are 150 different sport modes, and Amazfit’s PAI fitness progress system to help keep you moving forward.
Ecoflow RAPID Magnetic Power Bank

Inefficiency has been the main problem with wireless chargers — they’re a lot less useful when it takes six or eight hours to fully charge something. But, thanks to the Qi2 standard, wireless charging is taking a step forward – as seen in the Ecoflow RAPID Magnetic Power Banks. These chargers, coming in 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh capacities, are capable of 15W wireless charging, enough to take some phones from dead to 50% in under an hour. They also come with MagSafe, a digital display to check how much the device has charged, and a built-in USB-C cable. Ecoflow really packed in everything you could want from a power bank here.
Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush Titanium

The Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush Titanium isn’t just about good looks; it merges 66,000 sonic vibrations per minute with a 60-degree oscillation, resulting in 300% greater efficiency and six times better plaque removal compared to traditional electric toothbrushes. It’s crafted from biocompatible titanium, a material known for its non-toxicity and antibacterial properties, which is super important for dental hygiene. It also offers a customizable experience with three settings adjustable to over ten levels via its dedicated app, along with three specialized brush heads.
TECNO MEGAMINI G1

Handheld gaming PCs might be all the rage these days, but TECNO and GEEKOM launched the world’s smallest water-cooled Gaming PC at IFA and it’s beyond adorable, occupying a mere 5.74 liters of space. This diminutive powerhouse sports a sleek metallic shell, complemented by a see-through side panel that offers a tantalizing glimpse of its inner workings. Adding a touch of flair, the case incorporates eye-catching RGB illumination and an integrated mini display screen, which serves as a real-time information hub that shows off CPU and GPU utilization, as well as the internal temperature of the chassis. The PC is being launched as a Kickstarter project.
DJI Neo

The DJI Neo is a drone for everyone – it’s small enough to be launched from your palm, super light at about a half pound, and costs $200 – all while taking 4K video from the skies. It even has a single-axis mechanical gimbal, allowing it to stabilize at launch and take steady video while in air. DJI has toyed around with AI, too, with the drone able to recognize subjects and use preset camera angles to follow them.
HMD Fusion

No one has quite gotten modular phones right, but we’re liking HMD’s approach with the HMD Fusion! If add-ons end up being too bulky and cumbersome, why not fit them right into something that always gets used – a phone case! Called Fusion Outfits, the swappable cases all interact with pin connectors on the phone to add new functions – one’s a game controller, one has a selfie light, and one provides a waterproof shell. And, while most of the Outfits cost extra, it’s a low entry cost – the phone starts at just $300.
Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Foldable Pad

Thanks to the Qi2 standard, wireless charging is hot at IFA 2024. The best Apple-friendly charging gadget we saw was the Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (3-in-1 Foldable Pad), a tiny little device that folds out into three charging pads. The largest is a 15W Qi2 charger for an iPhone, the smallest is a MagSafe Apple Watch charger, and the middle is a 5W charger that can be used to charge an AirPods case.
Withings Scanwatch Nova Brilliant Edition

Withings is always spot-on when it comes to combining form and function. The Withings Scanwatch Nova Brilliant Edition is one of the most beautiful smartwatches we’ve seen yet, but it’s no simple heart rate monitor and notification machine, either. The Scanwatch Nova Brilliant can take medical-grade ECGs that can detect and alert users to arrhythmias. On top of that, Withings just announced their Cardio Check-Up feature, which connects users to board-certified cardiologists to review heart health based on data from the watch. That feature will be launching in France, Germany, and the UK.

Solar cells are getting cheaper to buy and produce, and that increasingly means that home solar power isn’t just limited to the roof. The Jackery Navi 2000 Balcony Power Station allows homeowners to DIY install solar panels on balconies, then store that power in batteries. And now, with Wi-Fi connectivity between units, that system can intelligently direct power to where it’s needed, regardless of panel placement – meaning those panels and storage batteries can be installed in the best places to soak up the sun.
