AT&T is making it easier for iPad users to get online without signing up for a monthly cellular plan. The carrier has announced a new service called Unlimited Day Pass. This service gives eligible Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad owners 24 hours of unlimited data for just $3 per day, with no contracts, subscriptions, or credit checks required.

What’s particularly interesting is that the offer isn’t limited to AT&T customers. Eligible iPad users on Verizon, T-Mobile, or other carriers can also take advantage of the service. This makes it one of the most flexible connectivity options currently available for tablet owners.

AT&T Opens Its Network to More iPad Users

Many people own cellular-capable iPads but never activate a dedicated data plan for them. Instead, they rely on Wi-Fi or phone tethering when they need internet access. AT&T says the Unlimited Day Pass is designed for such users.

The new service allows eligible U.S. iPad owners with eSIM support to purchase a 24-hour unlimited data pass whenever they need connectivity. Rather than committing to a monthly plan, you can pay for access on the days you actually need it.

According to AT&T, this makes the service especially useful for travel days, remote work sessions, road trips, or situations where reliable Wi-Fi isn’t available.

The First Day Is Free

To encourage users to try the service, AT&T is offering the first Unlimited Day Pass at no cost. After the complimentary pass, additional passes cost a flat $3 per day and can be purchased using a credit or debit card. There are no recurring charges, contracts, subscriptions, or credit checks involved.

The activation process is also designed to be simple. You can enable the service directly through your iPad settings by navigating to Cellular Data and selecting the AT&T Unlimited Day Pass option. Once purchased, the 24-hour data period begins shortly after activation.

A Different Approach to Mobile Connectivity

The launch is notable because AT&T is the first major U.S. wireless provider to offer on-demand cellular connectivity for eligible iPad users, regardless of their existing carrier.

Rather than competing for a customer’s primary wireless account, this service lets you enjoy temporary connectivity whenever needed. It’s a flexible ideal that could also appeal to users who only occasionally need cellular data on a tablet but don’t want to pay for an additional monthly line.

More Devices Could Be Next

AT&T has also hinted that the service could expand beyond iPads in the future, bringing similar on-demand connectivity options to other 5G-enabled devices.

For now, only eligible Wi-Fi + cellular iPad owners can take advantage of the new service immediately. Your first day of unlimited data is free, and additional days are $3 each. In an era filled with subscriptions and recurring fees, AT&T’s latest offering gives tablet users a rare alternative: pay only when you actually need to connect.
