Assassin's Creed is coming to Audible with an exclusive story 1

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed has reached many platforms well beyond its video game roots. To that effect, the series has been adapted into comic books, novels, mobile games, and even a star-studded Hollywood movie. Ubisoft’s newest venture for the series has them partnering up with Audible, to produce Assassin’s Creed Gold, an original audio drama.

Assassin’s Creed Gold will be written by Anthony Del Col (Kill Shakespeare) and is keeping true to the game’s modern-day/historical mash-up setting. The story focuses on small-time-crook turned Assassin, Aliya Kahn during the Great Recoinage of 1696, whose scams leave her in debt to one Gavin Banks. She relives the memories of her ancestor, Omar Khalid, to fulfill her mission and this causes her to discover secrets, and even get to meet the great Isaac Newton.

Assassin’s Creed Gold adds to the list of Audible’s notable roster which includes titles like the X-Files and celebrities such as Stan Lee and David Hasselhoff.

In partnering with Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Gold will be the first audio drama inspired by a video game. Aymar Azaizia, Ubisoft’s Transmedia and Business Development Director told Syfy,

“As an entertainment company, we are always looking after new ways to immerse players into our worlds, and we strongly believe Assassin’s Creed Gold offers a great opportunity for all our fans to dive into a new storyline inspired by Assassin’s Creed franchise”.

Assassin’s Creed Gold will have eight episodes and will feature notable names such as Riz Ahmed (Venom), Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Danny Wallace (Assasin’s Creed Syndicate), and Tamara Lawrence (No Offence). It’s available now for pre-order on Audible and will officially launch the first episode on February 27th, 2020.
