The TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER Android Tablet is down to $280 at Amazon, from its regular $400 price, saving you $120. That’s a nice discount on a large-screen tablet that combines a paper-like display with productivity tools, AI features, and stylus support.
This tablet is particularly appealing to students, professionals, and anyone who spends hours reading or working on a screen. It offers a roomy 12.2-inch display for taking notes, reviewing documents, watching videos, and handling everyday tasks. Plus, you can switch between different display modes depending on what you’re doing, making it a practical alternative to carrying both a tablet and an e-reader.
Why Choose the TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER Tablet?
What sets the TCL TAB A1 Plus apart from a regular Android tablet is its 12.2-inch NXTPAPER display, which is designed to look and feel more like paper than a traditional tablet screen. It reduces glare, reflections, blue light, and flicker, making it more comfortable for long reading or work sessions.
With a press of the dedicated NXTPAPER Key, you can switch between Ink Paper, Color Paper, and Regular Mode. Ink Paper is great for reading eBooks and documents, while Color Paper gives you a softer viewing experience without losing color completely.
Regular Mode brings back a more traditional tablet display for streaming movies, browsing photos, and playing games. You can even set different display modes for individual apps, so your reading app stays paper-like while your favorite streaming service stays colorful.
The display offers 2.4K resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and up to a 120Hz refresh rate, making it well suited for productivity and entertainment. You can multitask easily with its multi-window and split-screen features, while PC Mode offers a more desktop-like experience. It also offers Mirror Mode and Extend Mode, giving you more ways to work with compatible displays.
For people who enjoy handwritten notes, the tablet supports TCL Note, which includes AI-powered organization tools, and comes with the T-Pen 2 stylus. The pen offers 4,096 pressure levels and interchangeable soft and hard tips, helping writing and drawing feel more natural.
The tablet runs on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with 6GB of RAM and supports up to 10GB of virtual RAM. It also offers 256GB of built-in storage, with microSD expansion up to 2TB if you need more room for files, apps, and downloaded entertainment.
Battery life is another excellent quality, as the TAB A1 Plus comes with a 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. And for the shooter, you get an 8MP centered front camera for online meetings and video chats, and an 8MP rear camera for taking photos and scanning documents.
Despite its large screen, the TCL TAB A1 Plus remains fairly portable. It weighs about 1.23 pounds and measures just 0.26 inches thick, with a metal body, durable surface glass, and IP54 protection against dust and splashes. The included Versatile Flip Case also provides different viewing and writing angles, making it easier to use at a desk, in class, or on the couch.
At $280, the TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER offers plenty of value for anyone who wants more than a basic Android tablet. Its paper-like display, large screen, note-taking features, and productivity tools make it a useful choice for both work and entertainment. With $120 off at Amazon, this is a great opportunity to get a versatile tablet without paying full price.
