Available in a range of striking colors and crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the iPhone Pocket is more than just protection — it’s wearable art. Keep reading to discover how Apple is elevating the iPhone into a true fashion essential.
Apple and Issey Miyake redefine tech fashion with the iPhone Pocket
Apple’s latest creation, the iPhone Pocket, blends cutting-edge design with the timeless artistry of Japanese craftsmanship. This innovative accessory, inspired by Issey Miyake’s signature pleats, features a ribbed open structure that expands gracefully to accommodate your iPhone and more of your everyday essentials. When stretched, its textured fabric subtly reveals its contents, offering a glimpse of your device while maintaining a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. Designed for versatility, the iPhone Pocket can be styled in multiple ways — handheld, attached to a bag, or worn across the body — and comes in a vibrant array of colors: eight for the short strap and three for the long version.

Each piece is crafted in Japan through advanced 3D-knitting techniques developed by Issey Miyake’s research and design teams. Drawing inspiration from the concept of “a piece of cloth,” the design reimagines the brand’s iconic pleats into a functional, wearable tech accessory. The project was brought to life through close collaboration with the Apple Design Studio, combining Apple’s minimalist philosophy with Issey Miyake’s experimental textile innovation.

“The design of iPhone Pocket speaks to the bond between iPhone and its user, while keeping in mind that an Apple product is designed to be universal in aesthetic and versatile in use,” shared Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director of MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO. “iPhone Pocket explores the concept of ‘the joy of wearing iPhone in your own way.’ The simplicity of its design echoes what we practice at Issey Miyake’s — the idea of leaving things less defined to allow for possibilities and personal interpretation.”
“Apple and Issey Miyake share a design approach that celebrates craftsmanship, simplicity, and delight,” said Molly Anderson, Apple’s vice president of Industrial Design. “This clever extra pocket exemplifies those ideas and is a natural accompaniment to our products. The color palette of iPhone Pocket was intentionally designed to mix and match with all our iPhone models and colors — allowing users to create their own personalized combination. Its recognizable silhouette offers a beautiful new way to carry your iPhone, AirPods, and favorite everyday items.”
Where and when to get the iPhone Pocket
The iPhone Pocket makes its debut as a special-edition release just in time for the holiday season. The short strap edition is available in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black, while the long strap comes in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
Pricing reflects its premium design: the short strap model retails for $149.95 (U.S.), while the long strap version is priced at $229.95 (U.S.). Starting Friday, November 14, customers can purchase the iPhone Pocket through select Apple Store locations and apple.com in France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S.
A surprising bond between Apple and Issey Miyake
Although the iPhone Pocket marks the first official product collaboration between Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE, the two brands share a design connection that stretches back to the Steve Jobs era. The late Apple co-founder was famous for his minimalist wardrobe, often stepping onstage in a black turtleneck and jeans during keynotes where he unveiled revolutionary products like the iPhone and MacBook Air. Those signature black turtlenecks? They were designed by Issey Miyake, who retired the iconic shirts from his collection following Jobs’ passing in 2011.
Apple’s foray into wearable iPhone accessory
The iPhone Pocket marks Apple’s second venture into wearable iPhone fashion in 2025, building on the brand’s recent efforts to merge tech and style. Earlier in September, alongside the launch of its latest iPhone lineup, Apple introduced a crossbody iPhone accessory priced at $59, giving users a hands-free, fashion-forward way to carry their devices. With the iPhone Pocket, Apple continues to explore this intersection of functionality and design, offering a premium, statement-making option that elevates everyday tech into a wearable accessory.
