Better check the freezer. The FDA announced that Endico Potatoes Inc. is recalling two of its frozen vegetable products after testing revealed potential Listeria contamination.

The New York–based company pulled its Endico brand Peas & Carrots and Mixed Vegetables after a routine testing at a distributor facility carried out by the Pennsylvania state revealed the bacteria. Distribution has been stopped while Endico works with federal officials on the investigation.

The affected bags were sent to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Florida between July 18 and August 4 of this year. Each comes in a 2.5-pound clear plastic bag with the Endico label.

The recalled peas and carrots carry lot code 110625 with a production date of June 11, 2025, and a use-by date of June 10, 2027. The mixed vegetables are marked with lot code 170625, produced June 17, 2025, and a use-by date of June 16, 2027.

Listeria infections can be especially risky for young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems, though even healthy consumers may experience fever, stomach upset, or headaches after exposure. No illnesses have been reported so far, but the FDA urges anyone with the recalled vegetables not to eat them. Bags can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Endico has set up a hotline at 1-800-431-1398 for questions related to the recall.
