Dipping fries into a Frosty has been a Wendy’s thing for years. This March Madness, the fast food restaurant has made it official.
Wendy’s is launching what it’s calling the Dunks Menu this week, timed to the NCAA tournament. The menu is available via the Wendy’s app and Wendys.com and starts simple: Hot & Crispy Fries and a Classic Frosty, the combo that kicked off the whole fries-dipping craze.
It then rounds out on March 23 to include nuggets and the company’s signature Tendys with accompanying dipping sauces.
Sweepstakes, Sneakers, and Championship Freebies
Every purchase from the menu between now and April 6 enters customers into what the burger chain calls the ‘Dunkstakes,’ with the top prize being $100,000 cash. Fans also get to win 25 custom Dunk-themed sneakers, several $1,000 prizes, and 500 gift cards that have been added to the mix.
The national championship games kick things up a notch. The first dunk in either the Women’s or Men’s National Championship (April 5 and April 6) will trigger a nationwide ‘Free Dunk for America’ offer redeemable in-restaurant the following day.
April 7 also has a standing deal regardless of dunks: anyone walking into a participating Wendy’s gets a free small fries and a small Frosty, no strings attached.
These types of fan-focused celebrations have become a staple since Wendy’s became an official NCAA partner in 2017 as the official hamburger partner of March Madness. The 2021 version centered on breakfast, while more recent ones (including 2022 and 2023’s app-exclusive burger and combo savings) have shifted toward the app, which is where this one lives, too.
Every offer requires ordering through Wendys.com or the Wendy’s app, with the free April 7 deal being the one exception.
