A ground beef product from farm-producer White Oak Pastures is the subject of a public health alert from the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The alert was issued recently after White Oak Pastures notified the agency of complaints regarding possible metal contamination.
The notice covers a specific product—a 16-ounce, 90% lean, 10% fat variety package of Radically Traditional Farming grass-fed ground beef produced on February 26, 2026, with establishment number EST 34729 (inside the USDA mark) and stamped with “105761 Sell by 03/19/26” on the back.
The beef in question was distributed through the grocery chain MOM’s Organic Market to retail locations in Washington D.C., Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Two consumer complaints about possible contamination with foreign material, specifically metal, prompted the alert. The FSIS, however, has confirmed that no injuries have been reported.
A recall wasn’t issued because the product is no longer available for purchase. The concern now is that some packages may have been frozen past the refrigeration expiration date. Anyone who still has the product is advised to discard it or return it to the store.
