Imagine a world where the simple act of going for a run or walking home alone doesn’t trigger a cascade of safety anxieties. That’s the vision behind Keocam, a revolutionary wearable camera poised to redefine personal security. Created by Keotech Ltd., this tiny device, no larger than a matchbox, promises to be a game-changer, acting as a “personal dashcam” that’s always recording.
With statistics revealing the alarming underreporting of assaults and the pervasive fear of crime, Keocam aims to provide not just evidence but a powerful deterrent. Its unique “always-recording” technology, combined with a suite of emergency response features, could make potential attackers think twice, offering users a newfound sense of security.
How Keocam Works
Introduced on March 3rd at Mobile World Congress, Keocam is the world’s first “personal dashcam” designed for individual safety and security. This innovative wearable device seamlessly integrates advanced recording technology with emergency response features to provide real-time protection.
Keocam operates in sync with a smartphone, utilizing a patented system that continuously records the user’s surroundings in a one-minute loop. This ensures that critical moments leading up to an incident are never lost. The footage is automatically saved to both the device and the paired smartphone, with an additional copy securely uploaded to the cloud during emergencies for added protection.
Designed to withstand high-risk situations, Keocam features a tamper-proof power button, preventing attackers from disabling it. It also offers multi-platform activation, allowing emergency recording to be triggered through the device, a smartphone app, or a smartwatch. In urgent situations, Keocam’s instant emergency response system alerts designated contacts with live video footage and precise location data.

Built for durability and convenience, Keocam boasts an IP67-rated weatherproof design, a 3-hour battery life, a 160° wide-angle camera, and a high-strength magnetic mount. Measuring just 2.1 x 1.9 inches, this compact safety tool will be available in black and white variants.
The inspiration Behind Keocam
Keocam was born out of a deeply personal experience in founder Brian Pemberton’s family.
“With alarming statistics showing that 92% of female runners express safety concerns and only 20% of assault victims report incidents, we recognized an urgent need for technology that will deter crime before it happens. To do that, you need to offer an unnerving threat, the threat of being caught through irrefutable evidence,” said Brian Pemberton, Founder & CEO of Keotech Ltd. “Keocam empowers users with peace of mind while creating a powerful deterrent against would-be attackers.”
Despite the widespread occurrence of sexual assaults and hate crimes, many go unreported, and conviction rates remain distressingly low—only 2.5% of perpetrators are imprisoned. By capturing and securely storing crucial evidence, Keocam helps bridge this gap, giving victims the ability to document incidents while discouraging potential attackers.
“By combining always-on recording capabilities with tamper-proof operation and instant emergency notification, Keocam represents a true breakthrough in personal security technology,” added Pemberton.
Keocam is set to officially launch in Q4 2025.
