T-Mobile follows behind AT&T and Verizon with eSIM support, but there’s a catch

T-Mobile’s prepaid iPhone users can finally register two numbers on a single device

T-Mobile follows behind AT&T and Verizon with eSIM support, but there's a catch 1

T-Mobile prepaid subscribers with the latest iPhones can now operate two different numbers on one device. But the catch is that T-Mobile is limiting eSIM support to prepaid users. This is really disappointing news for postpaid T-Mobile customers who have been patiently waiting for eSim support to roll out.

Through the company’s T-Mobile app, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR users can register an ‘eSIM’, which in turn frees the physical SIM slot for a secondary service plan.

Currently, T-Mobile is offering customers just three prepaid options:

  • Unlimited text, 1000 minutes voice, and 2GB data for $30 per month.
  • Unlimited text and voice, 10GB data for $40.
  • Or get everything unlimited for $70.

The Verge says that T-Mobile says eSIM was designed with international visitors in mind, however, anyone with a compatible device (and iOS 12.1.1 or later) can buy one of these eSIM compatible plans.

T-Mobile follows behind AT&T and Verizon in integrating eSIM technology.
