Do you remember when your browser’s homepage was a big deal? We’re talking about the early-2000s, an era devoid of social media and smartphones. In recent years it seems ‘homepage hysteria’ has died down, but a company called Start Me is looking to make it a thing again.
Though the service has been around for many years, recent updates have made the service even cleaner and more intuitive to use, making it our favorite homepage service.
For the uninitiated, Start Me is a customizable homepage (or start page) that allows you to configure tiles and widgets to display information that’s relevant to you. Whether its local weather, news, social media or RSS feeds, Start Me is designed to be a one-stop shop for all your web activities.
More promising, since it’s web-based, there’s no hassling with downloads or updates, simply set up an account and you’re all set. Start Me is an ad-supported service, but the company offers a paid version that’s ad-free.
