Apple may be grabbing all the attention with its big product launch today, but Samsung has a pretty compelling reason to look the other way. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is down from $1,900 to $1,650 at Amazon, saving you $250 on Samsung’s latest foldable phone.

The timing couldn’t be better. Apple is expected to finally enter the foldable phone market today, years after Samsung helped define the category. But if you’d rather skip the wait and go with a foldable that’s already here, the Z Fold 8 offers a big screen that folds into a more pocket-friendly form factor, powerful performance, and a 50MP camera system.

Why Choose the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8?

Samsung’s new foldable features a passport-style form factor that has earned approval from many since its launch. The larger inner display gives games, books, websites, and apps much more room to breathe. And when you fold it back up, you get a beautiful outer display with a 10:16 aspect ratio that’s ideal for movies, texting, scrolling, and handling quick tasks.

The display can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness, which should make it easier to see outdoors. Plus, Samsung has trimmed the weight down to 201 grams, making this its lightest Fold yet.

Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, which is designed to keep gaming, streaming, multitasking, and Samsung’s Galaxy AI features running smoothly. Add its 12GB RAM and 256GB starting storage, and you get a phone ideal for everything from editing photos and videos to playing games and multitasking.

For the shooters, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a dual 50MP camera system, and the large screen gives you plenty of room to frame and review your photos. You also get “My FanCam,” a feature that helps keep a subject centered when you’re turning recorded footage into something ready to share.

Like the Galaxy S26, this Z Fold 8 also has Super Steady Video with Horizontal Lock, designed to keep videos level even with plenty of movement. And for battery life, Samsung rates the 4,800mAh battery for 26 hours of video playback, so you should get all-day use out of it.

At $1,650 instead of $1,900, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is still a serious investment, but $250 off certainly helps. And on a day when Apple’s next generation of phones is about to take center stage, Samsung’s discount gives you another reason to consider switching sides instead of automatically buying the next iPhone.
