Samsung has officially opened pre-orders for its 2025 Odyssey gaming monitors, and trust me, these displays are worth every pixel of excitement, especially if you’re a gamer. As the reigning #1 monitor brand for three consecutive years and current #1 OLED monitor brand in the U.S., Samsung is once again raising the bar for gaming displays.
The star of the show is undoubtedly the Odyssey 3D (G90XF model), which delivers genuinely immersive glasses-free 3D. Using advanced eye-tracking technology and proprietary view mapping algorithms, this 27-inch monitor adjusts images in real-time based on your eye movement, creating stunning depth perception with no need to use any special eyewear. I tried the Odyssey 3D out myself and was blown away by how much fun the 3D experience in this monitor brings to gaming.
Samsung has already partnered with major game studios like Nexon and Neowiz to optimize titles for this technology. The list of current gaming titles the monitor supports includes: KHAZAN: The First Berserker, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Lies of P, Psychonauts 2, Little Nightmares II, Palworld, F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, Like a Dargon: Ishin, Only UP, Darksiders Genesis and Octopath Traveler.
Beyond those titles, the monitor has an AI conversion feature that can transform standard content into 3D on the fly. In addition to trying some titles mentioned above, I also tried playing games through the monitor that haven’t been specifically optimized for 3D, and was impressed how the monitor still manages to do a great job of transforming non-optimized content to 3D.
Besides gaming, the Odyssey 3D can transform many types of content into a 3D immersive experience. As a matter of fact, it works with YouTube content quite well! However it won’t its 3D capabilities won’t work on services like Netflix and Amazon Prime which have DRM protection.
Beyond the 3D magic, this monitor boasts impressive gaming specs: 4K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response time, plus compatibility with both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies.

For those who don’t care for the 3D bells and whistles, the new Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model) is worth considering. Available in 27-inch and 32-inch variants, the smaller model offers an industry-first combination of 4K resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and an incredible 166 PPI pixel density. The QD-OLED panel delivers perfect blacks and vibrant colors with VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certification.
Samsung also addresses the OLED burn-in concern with their innovative “Pulsating Heat Pipe” cooling technology that diffuses heat five times better than standard solutions. With a lightning-fast 0.03ms GtG response time, this might be the most responsive gaming display ever created.
Rounding out the lineup is the 49-inch Odyssey G9 (G91F model), featuring a 1000R curved Dual QHD display equivalent to two 16:9 monitors side by side. With a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and handy features like Picture-by-Picture mode, it’s ideal for immersive gaming and multitasking.
