Samsung is introducing a new category of TVs with the launch of its Micro RGB lineup. The new R85H and R95H models represent a step down in price and size compared to the brand’s ultra-premium 115-inch Micro RGB TV, released in 2025.

They combine microscopic RGB backlighting with AI-powered processing, delivering more precise color, better brightness, and improved overall picture quality. With the release of these new TVs, Samsung aims to make its next-generation display technology more widely available.

Micro RGB Technology Brings a New Level of Color

At the heart of both models is Samsung’s Micro RGB technology, which uses microscopic red, green, and blue LEDs to create a wider color range and more accurate visuals. Unlike traditional backlighting systems, these micro-sized LEDs work together to deliver 100% BT.2020 color coverage, resulting in more vibrant, lifelike images.

And since the light sources are smaller, they reduce color bleed, allowing for sharper contrast and more precise detail. The result is a picture that feels richer and more immersive, regardless of the content you’re watching.

Samsung’s AI Powers Picture and Performance

Samsung is pairing this new display tech with advanced AI processing. The R85H features the Micro RGB AI Engine, while the R95H steps up to the more powerful AI Engine Pro, designed to enhance picture quality further.

These processors help optimize color, contrast, and sharpness in real time, while also handling 4K upscaling and improving sound output. The R95H also adds Micro RGB HDR Pro, boosting brightness and detail in both highlights and shadows. Both models run on One UI Tizen, Samsung’s smart TV platform, with support for apps, streaming, and up to seven years of OS updates.

Built for Gaming and High Refresh Rates

The R85H supports up to 144Hz refresh rates, while the R95H pushes even further with up to 165Hz, delivering smoother motion and reduced screen tearing. Combined with fast-motion handling and VRR support, they are suitable for both console and PC gaming.

You also get Dolby Atmos audio on both TVs, meaning you’ll enjoy immersive, multidimensional sound that complements the visuals. Additionally, the R95H gets glare-free technology, reducing reflections in bright rooms and making it easier to watch content during the day.

Pricing and Availability

The new Micro RGB TVs are available now on Samsung’s website, with the R85H starting at $1,600 for the 55-inch model and up to $4,000 for the 85-inch model. On the other hand, the R95H starts at $3,200 for the 65-inch and goes up to $6,500 for the 85-inch model. Compared to Samsung’s earlier 115-inch Micro RGB model priced at $30,000, these new TVs bring the technology into a more accessible range for everyday buyers.
