Roku and Philips have teamed up to bring something fresh to U.S. living rooms: the Philips Roku TV with Ambilight. Available starting today at Sam’s Club, this TV combines Roku’s user-friendly streaming platform with Philips’ exclusive Ambilight technology. This marks the first time U.S. customers can experience the glowing halo effect that extends entertainment beyond the screen.

The Ambilight TV utilizes intelligent LED lights built into its back to project colors onto your wall in real-time. Watching a big game? Your wall glows green when your team scores. Streaming a concert? The lights pulse along to the beat.

Movie night? The room shifts into a warm, cinematic glow, keeping you immersed in the story. Beyond creating atmosphere, Ambilight also softens the contrast between screen brightness and a dark room, making viewing easier on the eyes.

Roku TV OS at the Core

Built with Roku OS, the Philips Roku TV is designed to make streaming seamless. You’ll have access to thousands of popular apps, over 500 live TV channels, and exclusive Roku Originals.

With Roku Smart Picture, the TV automatically adjusts picture modes to suit what you’re watching, whether it’s a late-night drama or a sun-soaked sports broadcast. Pair it with Roku wireless speakers or soundbars, and you’ve got the foundation of a full home theater.

This TV also doubles as an ambient backdrop for your living space when not in use, thanks to Roku Backdrops and mood lighting options. It works with Roku’s broader smart home ecosystem, offering voice commands, notifications, and mobile app integration. Apple AirPlay support is built in, so you can easily cast videos, photos, music, or podcasts directly from your iPhone or iPad.

Picture and Performance

The Philips Roku TV supports 4K UHD resolution with HDR10 for sharper detail, richer contrast, and lifelike color. It’s available in 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch models, giving buyers options that fit both apartments and large living rooms. Snappy performance is baked in, ensuring the Ambilight experience doesn’t come at the cost of speed.

Philips Roku TVs featuring Ambilight are available starting today at Sam’s Club, both in-store and online. This marks the first time U.S. customers can buy Ambilight-equipped Roku TVs, opening up a new way to make at-home viewing bigger, brighter, and more immersive.
