It looks like our collective dreams of a Clueless reunion just died. It has been reported that the Clueless sequel series starring Alicia Silverstone is officially dead at Peacock.

If you’re like me, you’ve been mentally preparing your wardrobe for Cher Horowitz’s grand return since the project was first mention back in April of 2025. We weren’t just getting a reboot – we were getting Alicia Silverstone herself returning. But according to the latest reports at Deadline, Peacock has decided to pass on the project, leaving the fate of the most iconic plaid-wearer in cinematic history in a state of “as if” limbo.

This seems like a massive missed opportunity for Peacock. In an era where streaming platforms are desperately clawing for nostalgia-driven hits, axing a legacy sequel with the original star seems like a major mistake.

We’ve seen the success of Bel-Air and even the short-lived Saved by the Bell revival Peacock, so why would they decide to pull the plug on Cher at a time when viewers are clamoring to bring back old hit shows.

Whatever the reason, this is a total bummer for those of us who were looking forward to seeing how Cher would navigate a world of TikTok influencers, dating apps, and looksmaxing.

This news comes just a few weeks after the news broke out that the Buffy reboot on Hulu had been axed. How much disappointment can a 90’s fan girl take!

While the Clueless sequel series project is definitely dead on arrival at Peacock, we’re holding out hope that another streaming service might swoop in and save it.
