HMD Global is announcing the return of Nokia phones to Verizon with the release of its first affordable flagship smartphone — the Nokia 8 V 5G UW. It comes with the phone’s capable internals plus Verizon’s speedy 5G Ultra Wideband connection.
The Nokia 8 V 5G UW is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor with the Snapdragon X52 5G Modem-RF system. According to HMD Global, the newly announced phone is its first affordable flagship carrier device on Android in the US. Both the Nokia 8 V 5G UW and Verizon aim to provide service and connect to wireless networks in most countries.
Apart from reliable connectivity, the phone also boasts its PureView quad-camera setup with its renowned ZEISS sensors. It flaunts a large 2.8um pixels and is partnered with an ultra-wide-angle sensor best for shooting landscapes. The optics also feature a Night video mode that reduces digital noise. Additionally, the 64MP main sensor helps in producing detailed images whether it’s a close-up macro shot or with depth for portraits.
For those who are into watching videos or playing games online, its 6.81-inch edge-to-edge PureDisplay should make the overall experience more immersive. It also comes with its own adaptive technology that upscales content to HDR quality and adjusts contrast and brightness depending on the current lighting. The phone also features an integrated power button, fingerprint sensor, and a programmable assistant button.
Available in Meteor Grey, the Nokia 8 V 5G UW will be up for purchase starting November 12th with a starting price of $699. Customers can purchase the phone at VerizonWireless.com. It will also be available at Best Buy.
