“Better late than never, right?” Of course, that is a direct reaction to Instagram finally giving users a way to control what posts they see while surfing through your news-feed.
Finally, you don’t have to unfollow all those annoying folks who pollute your feed with a silly amount of indulgent selfies, food photos or ridiculous inspiration quotes.
Yes, I am talking about you…
There will be no more of those awkward conversations with your workmates or family members who you just couldn’t bare to follow any more.
Now you have the ability to mute those accounts and when you do choose this option your Instagram feed, you can still see posts on their profile and get notified about comments or posts you’re tagged in.
Also, don’t worry too much about the awkwardness of this, because the accounts you mute won’t be aware you’ve made this choice and you can reverse it at any time.
Tap the ‘…’ menu in the corner of any post and from there you can make this choice. You will be able to mute posts, or mute posts and stories from an account. If you so wish, you can also check how your feed works by checking out Instagram’s Help Center.
The ‘mute option’ for Instagram will be rolling out over the coming weeks.
