Mountain Dew and KFC are launching a new exclusive soda: Sweet Lightning Peaches & Cream and it tastes a lot like an old school creamsicle. It will be available starting June 9 at participating KFC locations across the U.S.
The drink builds on the original Sweet Lightning flavor with added peach, honey, and a vanilla cream swirl. The option to add cream makes it a “dirty soda,” a style that’s gained popularity by mixing soda with dairy or non-dairy creamers.
Alongside the drink launch, KFC is reintroducing its $7 Fill Ups. There are four variations:
- Three-Piece Tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy, a biscuit, pie poppers, and a drink
- One-Piece Fried Chicken Breast (Original or Extra Crispy) with sides
- Two-Piece Fried Chicken (drum and thigh) with sides
- Famous Bowl with pie poppers and a drink
The promotion ties into a collaboration with the upcoming Formula 1-themed film, releasing June 27.
KFC president Catherine Tan-Gillespie said the goal was to bring back value-oriented meals and pair them with a new beverage to give customers more reasons to visit this summer.
The new soda flavor is part of a larger summer rollout from Mountain Dew, which includes several limited-time drinks across other chains like Little Caesars and Papa John’s. But this peaches and cream version is exclusive to KFC.
No confirmation yet on whether it will be bottled or remain fountain-only.
