Gear up for a Happy Meal meltdown – in the best way possible! McDonald’s is shaking things up with a brand-new frozen treat just for kids. Introducing the McFreezy, a delicious and icy dessert that promises to be the perfect ending to any Happy Meal adventure. Read on to learn more about this exciting new addition to the menu!
What is McFreezy?
McFreezy is a new frozen ice dessert made with fruit juice and puree. Available in orange, mango, and pineapple, McFreezy is one of the four items that will be offered within the Happy Meal menu in the United Kingdom for 14 weeks starting May 29, 2024, as part of a trial.
McFreezy joins McDonald’s UK’s Happy Meal side options, which currently includes fries and cucumber sticks. The McFreezy will also be available on the main menu.
Although it’s UK debut won’t happen until next week, McFreezy has been available in Spain for quite some time now.
In addition to McFreezy, McDonald’s UK will also trial Mayo Chicken, Fish Bites, and Flavoured Milk for as part of Happy Meal.
Mayo Chicken: Already an iconic staple on the McDonald’s UK Saver Menu, Mayo Chicken features crispy coated chicken with lettuce and cool mayo in a super soft bun.
Fish Bites: These are five bite-sized pollock pieces in a crisp panko breadcrumb coating and served with a choice of dip (BBQ, Sweet & Sour, Sweet Curry or Ketchup). Fish Bites. Want more than five pieces? Fish Bites will also be available in a serving of 9 as a side on the main menu.
Fish Bites and the abovementioned Mayo Chicken join the Happy Meal menu as main dish options, alongside the existing Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Veggie Dippers, and Fish Fingers.
Flavored Milk: A delicious dairy addition that might just steal Happy Meal menu shakeup in the UK is the Flavored Milk. Available in Chocolate, Strawberry, and Banana, these thirst-quenchers are made with natural flavorings without added sugar. Flavored Milk joins McDonald’s UK’s Happy Meal drink options that include water, milk (plain, Chocolate, Strawberry or Banana), and Fruit Shoot.
“Giving you even more reason to smile, four new menu items are coming to Happy Meal as part of a McDonald’s UK trial,” the fast-food giant told BirminghamLive. “Happening exclusively in the North West region of the UK and in selected restaurants in ROI, the trial will last for 14 weeks from May 29, 187 restaurants across Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, and the Republic of Ireland will be the first to get their taste buds on.”
If the trial is successful, they could be rolled out to McDonald’s restaurants across the UK.

A McDonald’s Happy Meal in the UK costs around £3.59 ($4.56), but the price can vary slightly depending on the location. McDonald’s sets prices for each restaurant individually. So, a Happy Meal might cost a little more in central London compared to a smaller town.
