This week, Lenovo is unveiling the Googlebook 15, the company’s very first Googlebook. The headline spec for this one is a 15-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen in a body weighing under 3 pounds. That makes it the lightest 15-inch laptop in Lenovo’s portfolio, and one of the lightest 15-inch laptops around.
Far from a basic Chromebook with a shiny new name, the Googlebook 15 packs an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, up to 32GB of memory, up to 512GB of storage and up to 47 TOPS of AI performance.
A big screen without the big-laptop bulk
The Googlebook 15 comes with a 15-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. There is also a haptic touchpad, a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and support for gestures such as pinch-to-zoom and precision scrolling. Lenovo says the battery can last up to 12.5 hours, although, as always, real-world battery life will depend on the use of the device itself.
The laptop also gets a metal chassis with an anti-fingerprint coating, a fingerprint reader, facial authentication and a physical camera shutter. It goes one step ahead with the Glowbar, a small visual indicator that lets you check battery and charging status even when the lid is closed.
Gemini is doing more than answering questions
Beyond hardware, Gemini Intelligence is baked into the Googlebook 15’s experience. One of the more interesting features is Magic Pointer, which gives your cursor a little AI-powered upgrade. Wiggle it to activate Gemini, then use it for tasks such as turning two images into a poster or adding an event to your calendar.
There is also Rambler, Lenovo’s voice-to-text feature. Press the dedicated dictation key and it can remove filler words and automatically add formatting while you’re speaking. So instead of staring at a blank document trying to formulate a perfect sentence, you can essentially ramble first and let the laptop clean things up.
Another perk of the Googlebook 15 is that it can stay connected with Android devices, allowing users to access apps and files from a connected phone.
Lenovo is throwing in a whole AI bundle
The laptop comes with 12 months of Google AI Pro for eligible buyers. This includes expanded Gemini access, 5TB of cloud storage and subscriptions to apps including Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and CapCut.
There is even a Lenovo AI Mouse designed specifically for the Googlebook. It can launch Gemini, trigger Magic Pointer actions and let users customize controls.
More than a casual Chromebook
The Lenovo Googlebook 15 starts at $1,099.99 and goes on sale October 4, 2026. That is a very different road from the cheap Chromebooks we have all come to know. But that might just be the point. With all the features it is packed with, Lenovo is positioning the Googlebook 15 as a full-fledged productivity and creative machine that offers a lot of power, and it’s priced well for everything it offers.
