The Lenovo Legion Slim and LOQ Gaming lineup have been unveiled with powerful specs that will appeal to different gamer segments. The Lenovo Legion Slim lineup targets gamers who want a slim machine without sacrificing power, while the Lenovo LOQ gaming PCs cater to entry-level gamers who want affordable laptops with powerful specs.

The new products come with various components and in-house developed technologies, such as the new Lenovo Artificial Intelligence (LA) chips, which Lenovo says will optimize the performance of the devices to satisfy the performance, cooling, and charging needs of gamers.

Lenovo also announced that the Lenovo Legion Slim lineup would include a new 14-inch laptop targeted at gamers who strongly prefer portability.

We are particularly excited about the performance potential of the new RTX 40 series GPUs, and we can’t wait to see how much better the RTX 40 series performs compared to the previous 30 series GPUs.

Lenovo Legion Slim 7i and 7

The Slim 7i and Slim 7 laptops are targeted at top gamers who might want a laptop with which they can also create content. These laptops can run AAA titles with ease and execute tasks like streaming, content creation, and work. Both laptops have an ultra-slim form and weigh about 4.4 lbs.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7i can be configured with an Intel Core i9-1300H processor, an Nvidia RTX 4070 laptop GPU, and up to 32GB RAM. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7’s only different component is the AMD processor, which can be configured with an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor.

Asides from the processors, everything else is essentially the same. Users can choose to pick a 240Hz WQXGA (2560 × 1600) display or a 3.2K 165 Hz display for their laptop. Both screen options have Lenovo PureSight gaming display functionality, which improves color accuracy and TÜV Rheinland blue-light protection certification.

Lenovo has tackled overheating, a common issue for gaming laptops, using its ColdFront 5.0 advanced thermal system, a new air intake and fan system, and its LA AI chip. Combined, these technologies manage the thermal performance of the laptops to maximize performance and minimize noise.

Lenovo reports that in its testing, the cooling system achieved a 48db fan noise in performance mode. We will have to test the laptops ourselves to verify, but gaming laptops typically hit 45-55db fan noise, so 48 dB could be said to be on the lower end of the spectrum.

Both laptops have a 99.99Whr battery and support Super Rapid Charge with a 230W adapter or up to 140W USB-C charging. The Lenovo Legion Slim series supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and has Lenovo’s Legion TrueStrike keyboard with a full numpad, large arrow keys, and RGB lighting.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7i will be available from April 2023, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 will be available from May 2023. They will have Storm Grey and Glacier White color options and a starting price of $1,769.99.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5i and 5

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i and 5 target price-conscious gamers who want a high-performance laptop without exceeding their budget. The Legion Slim 5i can be configured with an Intel Core i7-13700H processor, while the Legion Slim 5 can support an AMD Ryzen 9 7840HS processor.

Besides the slightly lower processor performance compared to the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 series, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 series has similar components. Both laptops can support an NVIDIA RTX 4070 GPU and up to 32GB RAM, and they also have the Legion ColdFront 5.0 thermal system and Lenovo LA AI chip. However, they use a turbocharged 12V dual liquid polymer fan system to keep the laptops cool during extended gaming.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i and 5 have a 16-inch 240Hz WQXGA display panel, while the 14-inch Lenovo Legion Slim 5 has an OLED panel. The laptops have an 80Wh battery which supports Super Rapid Charge and offers support for up to 140W USB-C charging. They also have the Legion TrueStrike keyboard with RGB lighting.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i will be available from April 2023 at a starting price of $1,349.99, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 will be available from May 2023 at a starting price of $1,199.99. They will have Storm Grey and Misty Grey color options.

Furthermore, the 14-inch Lenovo Slim 5 will be available from October 2023. Lenovo has yet to disclose pricing information for the laptop.
