Kellogg’s is giving one of its most familiar cereals a small shake-up, adding three new Froot Loops flavors that are already turning up on store shelves.
The new releases land at a moment when big cereal brands are clearly in a mood to experiment. Cheerios recently launched a new Confetti flavor and brought back Banana Caramel. Cap’n Crunch launched Mystery Crunch, its first cereal with an unidentified flavor that fans have to guess. Now it’s Froot Loops’ turn to stretch a little, without ditching what people already recognize.
The additions include:
- Cocoa Loops
- Sweethearts
- Glazed Donut Holes
Cocoa Loops is a chocolate version of Froot Loops made with real cocoa. According to Kellogg’s, the cereal is formulated with whole grain as the first ingredient and contains four grams of fiber per serving. It’s designed to deliver chocolate flavor while maintaining the brand’s signature crunch.
Sweethearts is a Valentine’s Day-themed release that keeps the original Froot Loops fruity flavor but swaps the rings for heart shapes. According to official product descriptions, the cereal features “heart-shaped pieces bursting with fruity flavor” and is made with natural fruit flavors and 16 grams of whole grain per serving.
Glazed Donut Holes are blueberry-flavored and shaped like donut holes rather than rings. Kellogg’s describes it as a cereal “made especially for donut lovers” that combines blueberry flavor with a sweet glaze profile. The cereal trades Froot Loops’ traditional circular shape for bite-sized donut hole pieces.
Photos of the boxes started circulating after food content creator @morganchomps spotted them at Walmart and shared images on Instagram, and the reactions soon followed.
“I’m waiting for Fruit Loops to get the protein treatment! I mean seriously… What doesn’t have protein in it anymore?” one person wrote.
Another chimed in with, “The glazed donut cereals are clearanced at our Walmart. Lol”
Kellogg’s hasn’t disclosed whether Cocoa Loops and Glazed Donut Holes are limited runs or longer-term additions, though Sweethearts is marketed as a limited-edition Valentine’s Day release. For now, they’re showing up at Walmart alongside the original Froot Loops, ready to grab whenever the usual box doesn’t cut it.
