Keebler’s elves have been busy, and their latest creation might just give Oreo a run for its money.
The brand’s new E.L. Fudge Choco Vanilla Cookies are starting to pop up in stores, and yes, they look familiar. Each sandwich cookie features two fudge-flavored (aka chocolate) cookies with a vanilla creme center—a clear nod to the classic Oreo combo, but with a Keebler twist.
Instead of the standard circle shape, these cookies come molded in the shape of Keebler’s famous elves, so there’s no mistaking who made them.
The Choco Vanilla joins Keebler’s Elfwich lineup, which already includes the original E.L. Fudge cookies: vanilla shortbread filled with fudge creme. This new version flips the formula, and early sightings at Walmart, Kroger, and Safeway suggest they’re rolling out nationwide now.
According to Keebler, the “E” in E.L. stands for “everybody” and the “L” for “loves”—as in, everybody loves fudge. And if you plan to try these, don’t forget the milk. They were made for dunking.
So whether you’re loyal to Oreos or just curious to see how Keebler’s take stacks up, keep an eye out in the cookie aisle. Milk might have a new favorite partner.
