Owners of Google’s 2019 flagship phone may be eligible for a free repair. Spotted on Google’s support page, the company details that it will be accepting the larger Pixel 4 XL for repairs of “certain power-related issues.”
There are a couple of conditions that the Pixel 4 XL must be experiencing for a user to possibly avail of a free repair. These “power-related” concerns include the inability to be powered on, randomly occurring restarts or shut-downs, wired and wireless charging problems, and “significantly faster” battery drain than usual.
The support page does note that other damages, like a cracked screen, may cause the device to be ineligible for a free repair.
Pixel 4 XL owners can have their device assessed at an authorized repair provider like uBreakiFix or head directly to Google’s repair center.
The one-year extended repair program for the Pixel 4 XL does not apply to units bought in Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the UK.
