In the ever-changing cereal aisle, there’s no shortage of exciting new flavors and product launches. But sometimes, that excitement comes at a cost. Cheerios has quietly discontinued three of its lesser-known but well-loved varieties, leaving some fans blindsided.

According to General Mills, Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, and Honey Nut Cheerios Minis have all been pulled from production. While not the biggest names in the lineup, these niche flavors had loyal followings.

Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, first introduced in 2013, offered a layered take on the original Honey Nut formula by combining the signature O’s with clusters and flakes. It added texture and just enough sweetness without overdoing it.

Another casualty is Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios, which debuted in 2017. The flavor played into the ever-popular peanut butter and chocolate combo, and many thought it was a sleeper hit.

But the most surprising exit may be Honey Nut Cheerios Minis, which only hit shelves just last year.

General Mills hasn’t offered much explanation beyond confirming the discontinuations. But it’s not hard to guess the reasoning. The company is currently rolling out several new offerings, including Cheerios Protein Bars and Cookies & Creme Cheerios. With limited shelf space and an ever-growing product catalog, trimming the lineup was likely a business decision.
