Fossil has just released its latest addition to its wearables lineup, the Gen 6 Touchscreen Smartwatch. It’s currently the first smartwatch carrying the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform which offers faster processing and richer, always-on, ambient modes and watch faces with ultra-low power consumption.
The Fossil Gen 6 Touchscreen Smartwatch will also run the recently announced Wear OS 3 and will receive it as an update later on in 2022.
This sixth-generation touchscreen watch will be offered in two sizes, 44mm and 42mm, with a 1.28-inch display. The larger variant will come in four colorways while the smaller one offers three colorways. Fossil will be offering seven styles in total with interchangeable straps. Buttons and dials are also user-customizable.
Moving past the design, the smartwatch also offers a host of upgraded features including incredibly fast charging times. Fossil says that the Gen 6 Touchscreen Smartwatch’s charging speed is two times faster than the leading smartwatch. It’s able to charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor also enables decreased power consumption and coupled with Fossil Group-developed Smart Battery modes, it offers a battery life of over 24 hours. Switching to Extended Battery Mode allows the watch to last for multiple days.
There’s also an upgraded continuous heart rate sensor, a sleep tracker, and Sp02 tracker. The Fossil Gen 6 Touchscreen Watch is also equipped with a swim-proof speaker and microphone that users can use to command Google Assitant or to make and take untethered calls.
The Fossil Gen 6 is set to retail from $299 – $310. Pre-orders have already started. There will also be a special edition Michaek Kors Gen 6 variant coming soon.
