Award-winning country singer Dolly Parton plays an angel on Netflix’s Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square and she might be one in real life, too.
The film star reportedly grabbed 9-year-old costar, Talia Hill, and pulled her back as an oncoming vehicle was approaching their way. Hill said in an interview with Inside Edition that they were instructed to go to their respective spots and as she was walking, she just felt somebody grabbed her.
“We were on set, and I was at the hot chocolate station, and they said ‘Go back to your beginning positions’…So, there is a vehicle moving, and I was walking, and somebody grabbed me and pulled me back — and it was Dolly Parton,” said Talia Hill.
Being full of wit, Parton told Hill, “Well, I am an angel, you know,” referencing her role in the film. “I was in shock, she hugged me and shook me and said, ‘I saved your life!'” Hill said. And my mom’s going, ‘Yes, you did, Dolly Parton. Yes, you did!'”
Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square just recently premiered on Netflix and it tells the story of a small town with a ‘Scrooge’ of a woman who plans to sell it, without thinking of the people who live there.
As the angel, Dolly Parton plans to save the townsmen in time for Christmas. The film is also reported to be full of Christmas songs by Parton.
