With the CDC’s recommendation, face masks and coverings have become essential in preventing the transmission of the coronavirus. In response, Disney has now released a new line of face masks featuring famous characters from famous Disney movies and TV shows, including the ever-adorable Baby Yoda.
Other designs feature characters and artwork inspired by Frozen, Star Wars, Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and even Marvel. The cloth masks will come in three sizes and follow the FDA’s recommendations for non-surgical, non-industrial grade face masks.
Disney will also be donating up to $1 million of the profit made from US sales to the humanitarian group, MedShare, to help them in their mission of providing medical supplies and equipment to communities in need.
Additionally, Disney is also donating one million cloth face masks for children and families in “undeserved and vulnerable communities” in the US.
“We realize this is a challenging time for families and wearing any type of mask can be daunting,” says Edward Park, senior vice president, Disney store and shopDisney. “Our hope is that Disney’s cloth face masks featuring some of our most beloved characters will provide comfort to the families, fans and communities that are so important to us.”
The Disney face masks, which come in packs of four, are now available for pre-order on the official site. Each pack will cost $19.99 and is estimated to ship in June.
