In a move that’s already got ice cream lovers buzzing, Dairy Queen has officially confirmed what fans have been craving — the S’mores Blizzard is making its way back to the menu in 2025.

The campfire-inspired treat crushed the competition in a recent fan vote, where Dairy Queen asked its fans which flavor they would like to see out of the DQ Freezer come summer. It beat out other classic flavors like Georgia Mud Fudge and Cappuccino Heath.

For the uninitiated, The S’mores Blizzard was first introduced way back in 2013, but it isn’t your average frozen treat. It’s DQ’s signature vanilla soft serve that’s loaded with mini marshmallow-filled chocolate bars, fluffy marshmallows, and Graham cracker bits. Even DQ’s CEO, Troy Bader, counts this one among his personal favorites.

The beloved frozen treat’s return announcement on Instagram has already sparked a dessert frenzy, with fans flooding the comments section with enthusiasm and nods of approval.

The victory comes after fans rushed to the DQ app to cast their votes by December 19th (fans had about a week to cast their votes), choosing which legendary flavor would emerge from the DQ Freezer — that magical vault housing over 170 retired Blizzard flavors. While the Georgia Mud Fudge wooed chocolate lovers with its brownie chunks and pecan pieces, and the Cappuccino Heath offered an irresistible coffee-toffee twist, the S’mores Blizzard proved unbeatable.

The S’mores Blizzard is scheduled to make its grand return in April 2025 as part of Dairy Queen’s summer lineup, so don’t forget to mark your calendars!

This revival joins a wave of recent fast-food comebacks, including Panera’s popular and absolutely divine Blueberry and Sesame bagels and McDonald’s scrumptious Snack Wraps, demonstrating the fast-food chain industry’s growing responsiveness to customer preferences.

The return of this fan-favorite Blizzard flavor proves that sometimes, the most beloved treats deserve a second chance at sweetening our summers.
